Catching up........

A quick 'Hello' and catch up from yours truly, sorry AGAIN lol for the lack of blogging, I just don't seem to have the time these days what with the demands of work, not that I'm complaining I LOVE my job, it just doesn't give me much time to be creative for myself.

Here are a couple of Atcs I traded last month for a Halloween swap, have to say if you have not yet stumbled across OCTOPODE and the talented artist Lily who illustrated these two lovelys then visit her Etsy shop HERE, they are Digi stamps so no waiting for postie !

And here is a tiny 3.5 inch by 3.5 inch card that my ladies made in my promarker workshop last weekend.

Well that's all I have to share for now, hope you are all well....have a lovely weekend xxxxx

Miss Sunflower

Hello All, well I thought it was time to start sharing some of the cards I've been making over the months I've been awol, though they've admittedly been few and far between and mostly for work including this one....one of my favourite stamps designed by Mary Hall for Sugar Nellie.

Huh I'm really not enjoying the new post editor on Blogger, apologies for it being a little all over the place !

The papers here are BG Origins, perfect colours for this time of year...of which I'm loving, all the changing colours..so pretty !

Hope to be back soon, take care, love Katy x

Firstly I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone for your comments over the past few months and personal emails, it's meant alot truely and even though I've not been actively blogging for sometime I've still been around to see what you've all been creating and trying to keep up to speed with whats going on in blogland.

Life can take a turn at times usually when you least expect it and it's helped to have some time out to re-adjust and get back on my feet. It's proved I'm tougher than I thought and that I'm worthy of better .....what dosn't kill you makes you stronger hey ?

So now I'm looking forward to getting back to my creative self...shall have more to share with you soon and again huge thanks for the comments, lifted my spirits when I needed it most...take care, Love Katy xxxxx

A quick post...

Sorry for having nothing to share for some time, the truth is I'm going through some major changes in my personal life that are taking it's toll on my wellbeing and ultimately my desire to be creative....I guess this is going to be the case for the immediate future.

I do have cards that I've made but not posted...this is a recent one, my first attempt at using distress inks properly...on Aquarelle paper which i can highly recommend.

Thanks to anyone that takes the time to pop by and leave me a message, I do appreciate them even though I'm not actively blogging much these days.

Love Katy

Back from my hols......

 Hi folks,

well I'm back from my hols and well rested. Avimore was everything I thought it would be, very peaceful but chilly ! It proved a little too quiet for our liking so we spent only half the week there and then ventured back down to central scotland for the remainder of our break. It gave us the chance to visit Edinburgh, the old town, Art galleries and last but not least Mary Kings Close which we really enjoyed...was a bit spooky ! Here's a video from when Most Haunted visited a while ago to give you an idea of what it was like...

Looking forward to catching up with you all xx

Hey there Kitty Kat.......

Apologies for the really pants photo today ( well my photography skills have never been great ) you've no idea how many times I shot this card....ridiculous ! Anyhoo it's really all I have to share for the past few days creativity, or lack of it....mojo has well and truely taken a hike !

I'm trying to be organised in making this card ahead of time, a thank you to family who are going to look after my cats whilst I'm on my Jollys.....woooooooooohooooooooo, yep at last, wont tell you how long it's been since I had a REAL holiday. Not jetting off anywhere exotic, just as well with this blasted ash cloud ! Nope I'm off to sunny Avimore for a little R&R and fresh mountain air.......oh yeah, lol, as if I'll be climbing mountains :D

So back to my card, you can find the digi image here at Kim Prints Etsy store, I couldn't resist ! I created the scene using MME papers, quite pastel for me who tends to go for strong colour...maybe thats why the pic looks a little washed out ? blame it on the papers lol.

Thanks for popping by folks xx

Candy alert !

A quick post tonight to share with you some fabbylicious candy my dear friend Elaine is giving some lucky blogger a chance to win !...head over here  ....ya gotta be in it to win it :D xx

The new collection is available to pre order now, I checked with Kellie the prices for UK customers each stamp retails at £6.38 and postage is £1.35 for 4 stamps....pop over and take a peek !

Oh I'm a happy crafter....yes I am !

Okay so It's been a while I know.....sorry *blush* ...no excuses really except work and life getting in the way really. But I'm sat here fit to burst with excitement .......why ? Ooooooooooooooooooo well you know it's not every day an artist whose talent you have admired for a while agrees to share his work with you. It never ceases to amaze me where blog hopping can lead you and one day I stumbled across Ludo's blog, a lovely French artist....see here. It was not long after I'd watched Coraline and his work has that feel to it. Suffice to say I'm a huge fan  and I decided to make a connection on FB with him. Soooooooooo one day I thought "Hmmmmmmmm I wonder if he would agree to sharing his work to use as a digi stamp....you know that old saying " If you dont ask you dont get " lol.

Anyhooooo imagine how excited I was when Ludo said yes !

So without futher ado let me introduce you to Lucette, he even let me give her her name ! Lucette means 'Little light' ahhhhhhhhh so sweet :)

Thank you so much Ludo for sharing Lucette ! Now what 'we' need to do is pay Ludo a visit and let him know how we'd love more.....please ?
thanks for popping by...back soon xx

Happiness is....................

..........back again with this card, which I realised last night I'd forgotton to share. You might notice the papers are similar to the last card, yep...Bo Bunny again. I dont often use the same collection twice in a row but they were both samples for our Roseville St branch, we've had sooooooooooo many gorgeous goodies arrive the past month, yesterday we had a delivery of  yummy Darcie products, we have the stamps here.....do check out Darcie's blog, she has some lovely FREE printable projects on there,  not a range I've seen in the UK before ! and some sweet Inky Antic clear stamps...I LOVE my job :)

I think this stamp has to be my favourite so far from Krafftin Kimmie's, another range we now stock...Mmmmmmmm might have had a slight influence there, lol ;D

Have a lovely weekend everybody xx

It's fixed !!

Hello everyone, hope you all had a good Easter break ? Well at last I have my computer up and running again thanks to the fab techies at PC world ! Long time no see !

Heyyyyy hello my lovely blogging friends, oh how I'm missing you all, still no pc at home :( but saving like mad so I can get myself back online asap. So I've quickly popped on my dad's pc to share a few projects with you. The project above is a mixed media painting inspired by Kelly Rae Roberts work, her book is a fabulous tool for teaching yourself to paint, I can highly recommend it to anyone fancying having a go at this, I have still so much to learn :)

Hopefully it wont be too long before I can get back into the swing of things in Blogland, popping off now to try and catch up with you all, take care, love Katy x

Thursday, 4 March 2010

Oh Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo !

Oh yes, my poor PC is poorly sick at the moment, you might remember me telling you it was having probs with a virus, well it went kaput/crashed last Thursday. I'm feeling a little lost without it I can tell you, though on the plus side I've caught up with soo many jobs, kinda made me realise just how much time I spend online. So I'm sat in the Library typing this, not sure how long it will be before I'm back to normal, I'm using the internet on my mobile phone, but it seriously hurts my eyes and is so frustrating at times. A message for Kellie, I recieved my stamp hun, thank you so much, I love it and I'll be in touch real soon. I'm missing you all, missing the inspiration :(

Take care everyone

Love Katy x

Hello

Hi everyone.....huh, I've changed my post editor to the updated version and it's confusing me somewhat, lol...hence the big text ...I've been meaning to upload the cards I made for the Copic workshop a couple of weeks ago but couldn't find my charger for the camera. always putting things away then cant remember where I put them...anyway found it earlier so here they are..
the ladies completed this card..it amazed me how quickly the time went !
The second card they part finished, had a go at paper piecing, one of my favourite techniques :)

So all in all it was a good day, I'd been stressing about it so much though ! I am a worrier, lol.

Before I go here's a little ATC I've made for a swap...
There hasn't been much in the way of crafty time for me...thats what I love about ATC'S....smaller scale, less time, well most of the time :)
Oooooooh and did you watch the Brits tonight....had to share this, Lady Gaga was FABULOUS....what a beautiful tribute

Thanks for popping by xx

Sunday, 7 February 2010

Hello

Hello everyone, a quick post today to share this card :)

this super cute digi is designed by the very talentedAmy
and you can find it hereDarby and Bumbles oh I do love Digi's !

Papers are Be Loved by MME....gorgeous !! and the border, scalloped circle and Love sentiment is from the die cut sheet from this collection, perfect for valentines :)

I'll hopefully be back soon with a couple of pics from the copic workshop I did today, it went okay I think ? Have to say what a lovely bunch of ladies * waves * hello to you all if you pop by :)

Now I say hopefully I'll be back as my poor pc is battling with multiple viruses, I'm desperately trying to sort it but I'm a complete numpty when it comes to anything too techie, It's really scary, so If I disappear for a while you know it's all gone pear shaped :( BIG sigh.................just what I need :(

Here's hoping........xx

Hi There......

Ok.....where did January go ? I cant believe how quickly time seems to be flying ! I have my workshop this weekend ( now full ) still have some prep to do so I probably wont be back to Blogger till next week...gotta get myself organised ...eeekkkk

This is a little 5x5 card I made yesterday, my next workshop is based around Distress Inks so I thought I'd better get some practice in and leave my copics alone, lol.

The stamp is one of the adorable Ketto's from Stampingbella, papers are Bo Bunny, buttons are Woodware....

Thank you for all your lovely feedback, hope to be back soon xx

Marij Rahder

A super quick post before bed time, this is a sample for work I made tonight using the new Marij Rahder stamp collection...a little reminiscent of those characters you'd see on seaside postcards...do you know which I mean ?

There's so many stamps on one sheet with endless options, if you click on the link above you'll see what I mean, I thought the adoring look they are giving each other lent itself to a Valentines card, well I thought so, lol.

Thank you all so much for your lovely feedback on my last card xx

Less is more sometimes...

Hey everyone, how are you ? Oh I'm so much happier now all that 'orrible' snow has disappeared :) and I noticed today it was a teeny bit lighter for longer today...really does give me a lift to think that spring is just around the corner....I'm sure I suffer with S.A.D !

I think that the brighter mood I felt today has reflected in this card I've made for a lovely friend of mine.

I wanted it to be quite a simple card...I'm getting slightly weary (if that's the right word ) of fussy cards, though you get the wow factor with all the lovely details I've been just as impressed by the 'less is more' look that seems to be creeping into trend. It's quite a challenge :)

Little close up of this cutie....I like that she's not over detailed too :) She's a digi stamp which you can find here
Have a good week everyone xx

On Safari

Oh yes i wish i was on safari...how bad was the ice this morning ? I can honestly say i've never experienced anything like it, nor do i want to again....I now know what BLACK ice is all about ! It was the worst start to my day, no bus running into town so had to walk the treacherous footpaths this morning,it took me so long i missed my next bus to work...i hate paying for taxis...a blummin fortune i tell ya !

Anyway moan over, this weather is getting on my nerves now..hurry up spring !

So here's a card i made as a sample for work very late last night, this is one of the Safari/Jungle stamp sets Creative Expressions released a little while back...quite cute i think :) The Zebra print paper is Anna Griffin, very touchy feely flocked paper i might add...I embossed and distressed some Core'dinations cardstock, wrapped some paper twine ( John Lewis ) around that and added one of the circular sentiments from the set.

And there you have it :)

Keep warm everyone xx

Cute card Thursday Challenge

Hi Folks, thought it was time i joined in with a challenge...it's been so long since i did ! I'm entering this into this weeks challenge over at Cute Card Thursday which is to use something new.

Well this sweet Sarah Kay stamp is new to me, A kiss for Chloe, which i coloured with copics and i used distress inks to create the background. Papers are Bo Bunny 'Flutter Butter'...again....Anitas circle card blank, a paper doilie, heart punch and woodware buttons, sentiment is by My sentiments exactly.

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend despite the Big Freeze xx

Life is a Journey

Do you know Magnolia's are not something i use that often,if you're a regular visiter here you'll already know that, not sure why because i do like them :)
This is a sample i made for work the other day using gorgeous Bo Bunny papers, a MME journal card and pretty woodware buttons.

A little close up shot...still loving Copics !

My first bit of craftiness for 2010

I thought i'd share this post from my other blog here....still no cards :)

Well the snow has bought me some crafty time today with the shop i work at being closed for the day, it really does look pretty out there but i'm so glad i didn't have to venture out !

To ease me back into the swing of things i thought i'd make a couple of ATC's...

Stamps are Inkadinkado and Stampotique

Stamps are Basic Grey, released late summer last year.

A while ago i was very lucky to win Kate Cranes blog candy, this fabulous Art Journal ! If you buy Craft Stamper mag you'll be familiar with Kates work, this months mag has a fantastic article on Art Journaling by Kate, definately worth a look...thank you so much Kate, such a thrill to win this !

Stay safe and warm everyone xx

Friends

Well my first post of 2010, all i have to share is a notebook i decorated for a dear friend for christmas. I havn't done anything crafty for so long but i'm itching to get back to it now.

I must say the Moonlight Whisper characters are my favourite from last year, this one is Drucilla.....

The notebook i bought from John Lewis's stationary department, DP is Bo Bunny, the large heart charm part of a dt package from Diestodiefor

Have a lovely day everyone, keep warm xx
