Tuesday Taggers challenge #7 Age it

Morning everyone, this weeks challenge at Tuesday Taggers is 'Age it', we have a tutorial from the master of distressing 'Tim Holtz', another fantastic prize from our sponsor The Craft Barn and joining the team as a guest designer this week is Sandie Wright. Dont forget that you dont need to make a tag to join in, we'd love to see cards too :)

So here's my DT creation...it's an acordian atc, my first attempt at one of these i really enjoyed making it :)

I'm not sure the character stamps will be everyones cup of tea but i think they are cute in their own way..kind of kooky, if thats the right word, lol. I aged the text paper by simply scrunching the paper into a ball to crease then wiped an ink pad over the top and added a little distressing with a file and ruler to the edges of the paper...easy peasy.

Hurray it's the weekend !

Hurray it's the weekend ! I was up bright and early this morning, no matter how hard i try to have a lie in it never happens, but i was also anticipating some goodies arriving, i wasn't disappointed , the BG Lemonade papers are yummy ! Brilliant service again from The Craft Emporium.

Tuesday Taggers Challenge #5

Oh i'm keeping everything crossed here and typing as fast as i can because my internet connection has been hit and miss the past week due my Dongle playing up (Mobile broadband)

Time for a new challenge at Tuesday Taggers today, the challenge is called ' Stamp It !' So we'd like to use as many stamps on your project as possible, we'd also like to stress that it dosn't have to be a tag, if you'd like to make a card then thats ok....

Papertake Challenge #17

Hello everyone, thank you so much for all your lovely comments this week, i'm feeling tons better after my little bit of time out :) The problems i've had with J have been on going for about two years, sometimes it feels like it's never going to end, i know our situations not unique, it's part of growing up i guess...but he's pretty extreme at times and it's HARD. Anyway he's been staying with friends this week so maybe the break for us both will help...here's hoping !

A little rest

Hi everyone, apologies for my lack of posts this week, i'm having a mini break from everything...having a stressful time with a nightmare teen ! A huge thank you to the ladies at Tuesday Taggers and Colour create for giving me some time out this week...it's much appreciated and i'll be back next week :) In the mean time here is a card i made at a craft group i went to today...a lovely bunch of ladies and a great distraction
This has to be my favourite stamp...sure i've told you this before, and it always calls to be paper pieced, my fav technique

I've had yet another clear out of stamps this week...some of them quite recent..i'm terrible for using a stamp just a few times then wanting something new again...think i need help, lol. Colour Create Challenge#19 Lilac, Pink and Mossy Green

Tuesday Taggers challenge #4

Hello everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Tuesday Taggers, this week it's to have a go at making your own wrapping paper, create a matching gift tag and card. A first for me, never made my own wrapping paper before but have to say i really enjoyed it and shall definately be doing this again :)
So for my wrapping paper and gift tag i took a plain sheet of paper and with an 'Antique Linen' distress ink pad i wiped the pad directly onto the paper, it covered really well, no streaks. I then stamped a circle, inside the circle stamped the super cute owl, freebie in this months Craft Stamper, with a rose coloured Papermania ink. I added the sentiment 'you're a hoot' which is by Stampendous. I repeated this process for the tag and added the 'Just for You' circle sentiment which was a freebie in the last issue of Creativity and finished with a little ribbon.


For my card i used the freebie owl again, coloured with the Distress ink, papers are Doodlebug and my own background, added Papermania flowers and to the centre i added the lovely handmade flowers i recieved from Julie, the diecut leaves were in a RAK from my friend Tara :)

This week we have a fabulous tutorial, something we plan to do on a regular basis, by Michelle showing you how to create a gorgeous background using pigment inks and mica powder...such a pretty effect !

Colour Create Challenge #18 Rainbow

Morning everyone, It's time for another challenge from CC, we've moved from Sunday to Thursday's now :) This weeks challenge is to use the colours of a rainbow with the added extra (optional) of ' Build a scene'
We also have some gorgeous candy on offer with this weeks challenge , to be in with a chance of winning your entry must be just for this challenge, not combined with another
So for my card is used Skater Ian, papers are October Afternoon 'Night Light Henry' and Bo Bunny 'Grease Monkey Tread' both funky and fab for boys cards, stamp and papers are available at Diestodiefor
To create a scene i used a quickcutz die for the grass and just tore some card stock to create a grassy hill...after i'd made this i thought well actually you cant skate on grass, lol, but my o/h pointed out that you can buy special grass boards ! Never knew that :)...to finish i stamped 'YO' with a fab alphabet stamp set by My Favourite things,and added a couple of Candy Dots by Pebbles Inc again available from Diestodiefor..this set was part of my DT parcel and have to say it's great for personalising projects, scrapbooking and short sentiments on cards :)..the stripey ribbon is Maya Road..

Tuesday Taggers Challenge 3..

Time for a new challenge at Tuesday Taggers, this weeks challenge is to alter a clothing tag or something similar, it dosnt have to be a tag though as you'll see if you check out Jo's creation over at TT :)
I took inspiration for the colours from the stripey cord on the tag, paper is from this Gorgeous, scrummy paper pad by October Afternoon ' Cherry Hill'I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these papers, so much so i ordered a second pad the same day this one arrived, now thats something i've never done before but i just know i'll use them so much, infact you'll probabely get tired of seeing them, lol. I got them from The Craft Emporium, a fabulous online shop...heaps of delish papers, customer service is great, delivery fast and a nice little sweet treat included :)

Back to my tag...i used 'Miss Attitude' Gorjuss girl from Funkykits coloured with copics,Tim Holtz Grungeboard angel wings which i coloured with a pale pink acrylic paint, Fiskars border punch, button and toadstool charm from my stash..

What a gorgeous day !!

Isn't this weather just gorgeous?.... not that i'm one for sitting in the sun but it definately has an uplifting effect :) I've had a lovely start to my day meeting up with my friend Michelle for a coffee and a browse round our local craft shop, it's so nice to have someone who totally understands and shares a passion for crafting...thank you Michelle :)

I just wanted to ask before i go, anyone that uses Copics, how do you store them ? I've only had mine for about 6 weeks but i've had 2 pens dry out !! I've stored mine flat in a pencil case, lids tightly on, but i've noticed a lot of ink around the rim of the lids? I'm wondering now if i should be storing them vertically...any advice would be appreciated :)

I've always admired Julie's work, when i first joined Docrafts in 07 her gallery was the first to really catch my eye, she has such a distinctive style and eye for colour..i'm sure most of you will be familiar with her blog but just in case you can find it here, I'm sure you'll agree, a very talented lady :)

I was browsing through Julies Etsy shop and spotted the gorgeous flowers she hand makes, and after a few emails we decided to do a little swap...i was thrilled to bits Julie when i opened my parcel, they are perfect :)

Sooooo are you like me? when you HAVE to do the housework do you listen to music at the same time, it seems to help me get things done and it's the ONLY time you'll here me sing...cos i cant sing, lol, but when there's no one around who cares :) So i thought i'd share this with you

Tuesday Taggers Challenge 2 ..Bright and Bold

Morning everyone, time for another challenge at Tuesday Taggers and this week the theme is 'BRIGHT AND BOLD'
I decided to make an ATC for this challenge using one of the new Miss Anyas 'Shine', BG Lime Rickey papers , sun element is by Fancy Pants, Doodlebug rub ons and Craft Creations stickers..all inspired by the lovely weather we had this weekend :)

CC Challenge.. Pink, Lemon Sorbet and Chocolate

Morning Everyone, hope you are all enjoying some lovely weather today, it's glorious sunshine here in Yorkshire and about time too after all that horrible rain !

So this weeks challenge at CC is brought to you by little ol' me...a combination of Pink, Lemon Sorbet and Chocolate...
with the extra option of 'Shabby Chic'...
Now i'm not sure i've hit the mark with my extra option but really however you see to incorperate this into your design is ok, be it lace, ribbons, buttons, distressing, chintzy patterns etc, etc.

So for my card i used a new Leanne Ellis stamp from Funkykits which i stamped on to the background paper first, then onto white card, colored her with copics and cut out to place onto the patterned paper, the papers used here are My Minds Eye. I added clear dewdrops, Hero Arts sentiment, ribbon and lace, button from stash and to finish Glossy Accents and stickles here and there..

Before i go i'd like to say farewell to Kim who's leaving the CC dt to concentrate on family life and other work commitments,her cards are always an inspiration, will miss you Kim :(.... and there is going to be a change at CC from this week, i'll let Tara explain, to find out and check out the gorgeous creations of the DT pop over here..

Hello, here's a card i made for my lovely friend Janet, she kindly put a kit together for this weeks session at my craft club, you can see the project at the bottom of this post, I'd wanted to make the Tea Bag Bag but couldn't figure out the instructions i'd seen on another challenge blog so i asked Janet to have a look, she tweeked it a little, parts of the info was missing originally, but i am hopeless when it comes to measuring and folding...i NEVER measure anything for my cards, it's all by eye ! So this is the card i gave her to say thank you
I paper pieced my new Miss Anya 'Rain', was lucky to get my hands on this set from Diestodiefor at the weekend, thank you Tracy :) I added a BG rub on to black card, paper brads from Craftworkcards, sentiment by CCSR and organza ribbon to finish.
Here's the project, thank you so much Janet for your patience and for not slapping my hands for using so much paper trying to get the measurements and folding right, lol.

Before i go just a little update from Pink Gem Designs, Janet is now taking pre orders on 9 NEW designs that are available earlier than planned, these will be ready to be dispatched on Saturday 23rd of May...pop over here to see whats new !

Tuesday Taggers....New Beginnings

Morning Everyone,I was really honoured to be asked to join the DT at Tuesday Taggers, a brand new challenge blog that has launched today ! Making Tags, ATCs and Inchies is a great way to really stretch your creativity, working on different scales is a challenge in itself :) The first challenge today is ' New Beginnings'...eg New Baby, New Home, New Love, really any way you would interpret the title. Here's my first tag, just me playing really, and as always you know i love cute :) The little fairy is from the 'Fairy Doodles' collection by Buzzcraft, paper is K&CO, scalloped border i used a Fiskars punch and added the alphabet stickers by Craft Creations
This is my 'New Beginnings' tag All the elements on here are Doodlebug stickers, they have been in my craft box for 2 years ! Finally got to use them...added BG buttons and ribbon from stash.
